Qioptiq (formerly LINOS)

LINOS has expanded its range of fiber optic illumination systems with a high-power LED light source that implements the latest LED technology from OSRAM. This DC light source for light guides is a genuine alternative to conventional halogen cold light sources. The LQ-LED m.lux light source emits steady, flicker-free white light with a color temperature of 6500 K (daylight quality), making it excellent for use in image processing and metrology where true-color reproduction is of the essence. The device consumes only 15 W to provide an illuminance of more than 7 Mlux. Power output can be adjusted in 5% increments either manually, using the keypad on the front panel, or electronically, through an RS-232 interface. The setting is indicated by an LED bar graph. With its rugged, anodized aluminum housing, the LQ-LED m.lux is designed for use as a stand-alone device – and yet it can easily be mounted on a frame or in a rack using T-slot nuts.

A standard light guide adapter ensures compatibility with all glass fibers and liquid-filled light guides from LINOS, For efficient coupling, LINOS also offers a light source with integrated focusing optics for smaller fiber diameters (5 mm – 8 mm). All in all, LINOS can provide the optimum solution for practically any lighting requirements.
